Why Simple Zodiac Compatibility Tests Don't Work

Let's do a thought experiment. You open a site, enter "Aries + Cancer" and get: "Difficult couple! Aries is too impulsive for sensitive Cancer. Compatibility 35%." And now you are doubting your relationship.

Reality check: that "test" compared exactly 1 (one!) factor out of dozens. It is like evaluating a person by eye color. "You have brown eyes? Then only blue-eyed people suit you!" Sounds ridiculous? Sign tests work exactly the same way.

There are about 670 million Aries on Earth. Are they ALL incompatible with 670 million Cancers? Of course not. Because each person is unique - different Moons, Venus placements, Ascendants, houses, aspects.

Here is what a sun sign test considers vs what it ignores:

Considers (1 factor)

• Sun position - your "zodiac sign"

Ignores (everything else)

• Moon - how you feel and what you need emotionally. An "incompatible" Aries with Moon in Cancer perfectly understands Cancer's needs!
• Venus - how you love. Aries with Venus in Pisces is a gentle romantic, not a rough fighter
• Mars - how you act and express passion

• 7th house - partnership house. The sign on its cusp shows what partner you actually seek
• Aspects between charts - dozens of connections. Harmonious Venus-Jupiter or Sun-Moon aspects can make any "incompatible" couple wonderful
• Houses in synastry - where partner's planets fall in your chart
• Lunar Nodes - karmic connection between you

Total: the test uses 1 factor out of 50+ significant ones. That is about 2% of information. Surprising that results often don't match reality?

Couple 1: Aries + Cancer ("incompatible")

Test says: "Aries too rough for Cancer." Reality:

• His Venus in Cancer - he loves nurturing and home comfort
• Her Mars in Aries - she is attracted to his energy
• His Moon trine her Sun - deep emotional understanding
• Her Jupiter in his 7th house - he feels he grows with her

Result: wonderful couple, happy for 12 years.

Couple 2: Taurus + Aquarius ("incompatible")

Test says: "Taurus too conservative for Aquarius." Reality:

• Their Saturns in trine - solid foundation
